Moon craters!

As part of her space unit, Belle and Daddio made moon craters.  This was a great opportunity for her to not only learn about craters, but for a mini-lesson on physics concepts: acceleration, force, mass, gravity.  Oh, I'm so thankful that Daddio is a scienc-y guy!  :)

To make the moon, they mixed corn starch, white flour and water in a biscuit pan.  Then, they used rocks and other items as meteors.  She dropped the objects from various heights over the pan, and then observed the shape and depth of the craters.

And after we were finished, Ginger had a great time eating the "moon dust".
