Sunshine, making someone's day brighter!

When I asked Sunshine to write about her experience this week, I didn't tell her my idea that it would soon become part of our blog. I am donating my hair because I feel that it is important for people to be sure about themselves. Some women may be embarrassed or uncomfortable without their hair. Wearing a wig will help them feel confident in the way they look. Going through hair loss is very difficult, and usually comes during a traumatic time. Your hair is part of your identity and losing it is like losing a part of yourself. Receiving a wig may bring peace to someone during trying time

Self-Care Sunday : Covid-19 Quarantine

I try to schedule intentional self-care every Sunday. This is something my therapist said was important. You can't look back over your day and figure out what you did that counts as self-care. Instead, *plan* your intentional self-care, which I believe is more important right now than almost anything else (well, other than social distancing/isolation, nutrition, and sleep). We face a constant barrage of information, and right now most of it isn't very uplifting. For that reason, I am making sure intentional self-care is part of every.single.day. of our self isolation (or family isolation). Today, I decided to play with bubbles. I am fortunate to have a tub with jets, which makes BIG piles of bubbles. If you don't have that option, you can use a hand mixer or whisk in a large bowl or plastic tub of soapy water. Add caption In the past few weeks, as cases of Covid-19 have climbed rapidly, several people have sought homeschooling advice. I've been asked about homeschooling many times over the years, which led to the creation of this document. I decided to update it this week and begin sharing it again. I am not an expert, but I am happy to talk about what has worked for my family. Homeschooling can be difficult, especially due to other circumstances in our family, but it has been the most rewarding aspect of parenting I have experienced. I love teaching and I love learning. I get to do both of those things each day with the people I love most in the world. That is a true gift. During a pandemic, the choice to homeschool may not be seen as a gift. I fully recognize this.
